I have a very limited number of books containing maps, plans and images to support my book Wellington's Engineers. They are A4 hardback with sixty full colour pages. No more than twenty will be produced and probably it will be much less. Each will be signed by me with the book number.

There will be an article in the next edition of the Royal Engineers Journal on the British Use of Telegraphs in the Peninsular War. It builds on previous work I have done on this subject. There is still more research to do but this article describes a little known aspect of the Peninsular War.
The programme for this event, part of the 300th anniversary of the formation of the Corps of Royal Engineers. has now been finalised. I will be speaking in the early military career of Field Marshal John Burgoyne. The other presentations will be on Kitchener, Gordon and Hobart
I will be attending the event in the Tower of London on Wednesday. Wellington's Engineers has been put forward for the best first book award. I am very pleased and honoured to have the book recognised in this way by fellow military historians.
Will be held in 12-14 October 2016. I will be speaking at the event. Thanks to Nick Hallidie for continuing to arrange this event.
Detail to follow on their website Link Thanks to the group for inviting me to speak to them on 16 February. I spoke on the Royal Engineers in the Peninsular War. I hope you all enjoyed the evening.

This is a series of articles published in the United Service Journal between 1831 and 1832. They were written to defend the record on the British cavalry which the writer believed were unfairly criticised. The articles have been reprinted in book form with several appendices containing additional information. An interesting contemporary view of the performance of the British cavalry. Available from Amazon - LINK Another rare reprint. Steevens served in the 20th Foot through the Napoleonic Wars.
